The Dragon Tiger Kung Fu Center was Long Island’s first Authentic Kung Fu School, established in 1981. Originally opened in Hewlett, NY and since located in Northport, NY and Smithtown, NY, we are now located in Saint James, NY and serve all of Long Island, including Nassau County and Suffolk County. We offer instructional classes and private lessons in an ancient and original style of 5 Animal Shaolin Kung Fu, Sun Style Tai Chi Chuan (for adults & teens), Arnis De Mano (Filipino Stick & Dagger Fighting), Defensive Tactics for Law Enforcement Agents, NRA Certified Firearms Training, and a special Self-Defense and Rape Prevention Program. We also offer Special Workshops each month on different martial arts related topics of interest. We also offer specialized course programming, individually customized for the needs of corporations, schools, universities, hospitals, nursing homes, and law enforcement agencies. (Click here for more information on our Special Programs) We specialize in teaching men, women, teens, and children in small group settings. All of the instruction is conducted individually with the Sifu within the group setting. Each student is taught at his or her own pace and every class is filled with students of varying skill levels. The Dragon Tiger Kung Fu Center is conveniently located and provides a friendly environment where learning is safe and enjoyable. The Dragon Tiger Kung Fu Center is dedicated to instilling in its students respect for the martial arts, themselves, and others. High moral character, ethics, and other important qualities are stressed such as honesty, discipline, perseverance, dedication, patience, and kindness. Through practice, students attain self-control, confidence, focus, concentration, strength, speed, agility, stamina, and balance. Moreover, through the study and practice of these arts students learn viable self-defense skills, as well as how to keep themselves healthy and fit to successfully meet the challenges of everyday life. They achieve mind-body-spirit integration and the martial arts become “a way of life.” |
